All done (this week).
thumbs/pict6098.jpg
Update - 1 year later. New bars, foot controls moved forward, and new and more headlights.
thumbs/pict6100.jpg
Close up of the mods. These are 26" bicycle bars. They didn't hold up very long.
thumbs/pict6888.jpg
My new bars. I tweeked the first set and went with 1" bars. Added some bags and a little shield, too.
thumbs/pict7235.jpg
I cleaned all the black paint off the front wheel and painted it to match the rear wheels.
thumbs/pict7245.jpg
I forgot to show my led side marker lights.

thumbs/pict8378.jpg
This is the beginning of my new front end. I had this bent and will build the rest to fit it.

thumbs/pict8529.jpg
These are the upper and lower trees. They are made from 3" x 1/2" flatbar. the distance between the notches is determined by bolting the rear legs to the link.
thumbs/pict8377.jpg
Here we have the rear legs welded to the lower tree and bolted to the upper tree.

thumbs/pict8379.jpg
These are the front legs. The rods for the springs were welded on later.

thumbs/pict8381.jpg
The front end assembled. I went through 3 sets of lower springs before I found a pair stiff enough.
thumbs/pict8530.jpg
All painted and ready to go. I finally added a front fender.

thumbs/pict9740.jpg
The latest picture with the new front end and the trailer. I plan to paint the trailer wheels and the front wheel yellow.
thumbs/pict8852.jpg
LOOK!! These silly people put a trophy on my VW trike.

thumbs/pict0252.jpg
I started turning the springer into a shocker and it turned into a total rebuild. The motor is now a 2 liter type IV.
thumbs/pict1316.jpg
It's been a while since I posted any new pics. I finished the reconstruction of the front end and the rear cage.
thumbs/pict1317.jpg
This is a close up of my new leading link/shocker front end. Has an excellent ride and can be turned with 2 fingers.
thumbs/pict1318.jpg
I replaced the fake tank with a 4 gallon tank. There is an electric valve under the rear seat to switch between tanks.
thumbs/pict1319.jpg
The new rear cage is 4-5 inches higher and 6 inches further to the rear. Makes it easier for the passenger to get on and off.
thumbs/pict1320.jpg
The type 4 motor, Harley fishtails, and the taillights I had powdercoated black.

thumbs/pict1321.jpg
When I replaced the tank, I had to move the master cylinders. They are under the front seat now.
thumbs/pict1322.jpg
The headlights were for dunebuggies. They were powdercoated also.

thumbs/pict1323.jpg
I had the bars and risers powdercoated.

thumbs/pict1324.jpg
My electrics were in the Goldwing tank. I made this dash to mount the GPS and idiot lights.
thumbs/pict1311conduit_body.jpg
This is similar to the pvc electrical box I used to make the dash.

thumbs/pict2068.jpg
The latest (1/1/11) pics of my VW trike and teardrop.

thumbs/pict2202.jpg
I tweaked a set of bars to make them more comfortable. I cut off the grip ends and rotated them slightly to make them fit my hands better, removed about 2 inches of width, added a crossbar up high, and made a new dash to mount to the crossbar.
