- Just after I bought the VW trike, this guy wants to borrow it.
- Starting to baja the rear end.
- Finished the baja cuts.
- Installing disc brakes.
- Decided to get rid of the body. Not enough headroom.
- Stripped down to the bare frame. Removed the floorboard later.
- New springer front end.
- Painted the motor to swap with the baja bug.
- Had to move inside.
- Made clutch pedal and installed master cylinder.
- Goldwing tank will hide hydraulics.
- Front seat from dune buggy, and rear from Jeep sitting on frame.
- Looking through the tank at the master cylinder.
- The shape of things to come. Plywood is temporary floorboard.
- Cut the “floorboard” back. Considering headlights on the highway bar.
- Tank and storage box will mount behind the rear seat.
- Frame for the rear seat and storage box.
- Storage box and tank mounted.
- Rear seat mounted and folded forward.
- Rear seat folded one time.
- Rear seat open.

- 2 battery boxes under the rear seat . 1 for battery, 1 for tools???
- Changed my mind again. Put floorboards for the rear seat.
- Mounted the headlights and mirrors on the highway bars
- Put the switches in the tank. Ignition and turn signals on the left, horn and lights on the right.
- Put the tail lights on stalks. Outside light is turn signal and yellow on front side.
- Tangle of wires in the tank. Fuse box is in plastic 3×5 card box.
- Disassembled and painted.

- Left front view
- Close up of spider.
- Close up of arrow.
- Close up of VW flames.
- All done (this week).
- Update – 1 year later. New bars, foot controls moved forward, and new and more headlights.
- Close up of the mods. These are 26″ bicycle bars. They didn’t hold up very long.
- My new bars. I tweeked the first set and went with 1″ bars. Added some bags and a little shield, too.
- I cleaned all the black paint off the front wheel and painted it to match the rear wheels.
- I forgot to show my led side marker lights.
- This is the beginning of my new front end. I had this bent and will build the rest to fit it.
- These are the upper and lower trees. They are made from 3″ x 1/2″ flatbar. the distance between the notches is determined by bolting the rear legs to the link.
- Here we have the rear legs welded to the lower tree and bolted to the upper tree.
- These are the front legs. The rods for the springs were welded on later.
- The front end assembled. I went through 3 sets of lower springs before I found a pair stiff enough.
- All painted and ready to go. I finally added a front fender.
- The latest picture with the new front end and the trailer. I plan to paint the trailer wheels and the front wheel yellow.
- LOOK!! These silly people put a trophy on my VW trike.
- I started turning the springer into a shocker and it turned into a total rebuild. The motor is now a 2 liter type IV.
- It’s been a while since I posted any new pics. I finished the reconstruction of the front end and the rear cage.
- This is a close up of my new leading link/shocker front end. Has an excellent ride and can be turned with 2 fingers.
- I replaced the fake tank with a 4 gallon tank. There is an electric valve under the rear seat to switch between tanks.
- The new rear cage is 4-5 inches higher and 6 inches further to the rear. Makes it easier for the passenger to get on and off.
- The type 4 motor, Harley fishtails, and the taillights I had powdercoated black.
- When I replaced the tank, I had to move the master cylinders. They are under the front seat now.
- The headlights were for dunebuggies. They were powdercoated also.
- I had the bars and risers powdercoated.
- My electrics were in the Goldwing tank. I made this dash to mount the GPS and idiot lights.
- This is similar to the pvc electrical box I used to make the dash.
- The latest (1/1/11) pics of my VW trike and teardrop.
- I tweaked a set of bars to make them more comfortable. I cut off the grip ends and rotated them slightly to make them fit my hands better, removed about 2 inches of width, added a crossbar up high, and made a new dash to mount to the crossbar.
